What are complex care needs?
If someone has complex and long term care needs, they will have many different health needs. As a result, they will need more complex care on an ongoing basis.
Complex and long term care is often needed when someone has a disability, a chronic illness, has suffered a significant injury or has had hospital treatment.
How is complex care funded?
If you or a loved one has complex care needs, it’s most likely that following an assessment the NHS will pay for your care in the form of a personal health budget. This can be used to pay for any support needs you have, including personal assistants (PAs) and equipment.
